Angela Dulmaine turned her life-long love for animals into a career when she began grooming in 2011. Angela stayed five years in the fast-paced corporate setting—where she spent three as a salon manager—before joining a Natick veterinary clinic as their lead groomer in 2017. There she was able to work closely with veterinary staff and gain additional experience by grooming elderly pets, pets with health or behavioral issues, and pets who require sedatives for grooming.
Angela joined the Urban Hound staff in 2019. She recognizes that every pet is unique, and she appreciates communicating directly with clients in order to create a service tailored to each individual dog while balancing style with practicality. Angela relies on her ability to read a dog’s body language—as well as her strong attention to detail—to ensure that each pet is comfortable during the grooming process. In addition to specialized pet trims, Angela enjoys working with dogs who receive breed-specific haircuts. She also enjoys doing haircuts that allow her to exercise her hand-scissoring abilities by giving dogs fuller legs and large, round heads.
When she isn’t working, Angela spends most of her free time reading fantasy and romance novels while accompanied by her rat terrier, Maverick, and her cats, Fuzz, Peter, and Chowder. On days she goes out, she takes pleasure exploring the city with her partner, often trying new restaurants, attending pop-up exhibits, open markets, concerts, comedy venues, and Broadway shows. When she leaves the city, you’ll find her in her car, listening to true-crime podcasts or singing along to her music library, which includes a wide variety of pop, rock, and emo music.
