When Jhane Davis graduated from high school, she wasn’t sure what type of career she wanted to pursue, but she always knew she wanted to work with animals. After a brief stint as a bather at Red Dog Resort and Spa, she applied to the Continental Shoppe in West Roxbury, where she spent seven years bathing and learning to groom.
Jhane joined the Urban Hound staff as a bather in 2024. “I love bathing and drying dogs, especially double coated dogs,” she says. “There’s nothing more satisfying than blow drying a curly standard poodle straight, or unpacking the undercoat of a Samoyed.”
Jhane has two beautiful short-haired domestics, Sheeba and Kunlé, that she adopted with her partner. When she isn’t working, she enjoys meditating at the beach. “There’s something about the ocean that is so calming. I love spending time in nature,” she says. “When you’ve lived in the city your entire life, it’s nice to get some peace and quiet.”
