Our daycare environment includes a team of 8 attendants, with a minimum of at 2 staff members always present in the play area.
For puppy daycare and dog structured daycare program, we have two dog trainers and a training assistant specializing in dog training programs. Clients typically communicate with us via email or phone. Many also combine daycare and dog grooming services, allowing their dogs to enjoy playtime before or after their grooming appointment.
Our Puppy Daycare focuses on socialization and basic dog training. Puppies engage in playtime with other puppies and staff, reinforcing puppy potty training, crate training, and basic obedience. The day includes the following on a repeated schedule:
Puppy Daycare (12 weeks - 10 months)
- Playtime: 30-60 minutes of outdoor and indoor play with toys and other dogs
- Downtime: 60-90 minutes of crate time to reinforce crate training
- Potty Breaks: Regular outdoor breaks
- Special Activities: Outdoor pool play in good weather
- Schedule: 7 am – 6 pm, with dog trainers available from 8 am – 4 pm
- Pricing: Full day $85, Half-day $50
- Hours and Days: Drop-off between 7 am – 10 am on Monday- Friday, Full Day: 7 am – 6 pm, Half Day: 5 hours or less
- Flexible Scheduling: Book as many days as you need, with options for standing reservations or booking as needed. No minimum requirement

Structured Dog Daycare
Structured Dog Daycare is designed for dogs who have completed a dog training program that is aligned with our balanced training method. Our dog trainers reinforce learned skills through:
- Pack Walks: Multiple walks throughout the city, adjusting for weather
- Playtime and Training: Indoor play combined with recall and reactivity training
- Personal Attention: A small group of up to 15 dogs ensures personalized care
- Schedule: 7 am – 6 pm, with dog trainers available from 8 am – 4 pm

Dog Daycare
Our Dog Daycare accommodates up to 50 dogs and accepts new clients after a temperament test. Dogs enjoy:
- Flexible Drop-off/Pick-up: 7 am – 10 am drop off and pick up anytime before 6pm
- Playtime: Indoor and outdoor play, with access to a kiddie pool and hose in the warmer months!
- Rest Areas: Crates and private rooms for naps and quiet time
- Special Requests: Tailored care to meet individual needs, such as personalized water bowls or additional rest time for older dogs
- Pricing: Full day $56, half day $50

THINGS TO KNOW about dog daycare
- The safety of your dog is our top priority. For that reason, we have a ZERO tolerance aggression policy. If your dog shows aggression toward any other dogs in the park, they will be removed from the daycare until you are able to get them at the end of your day, and will not be allowed back into the group daycare setting.
- All dogs MUST be up to date on all of their vaccinations before being allowed in to our facility. This includes rabies, distemper, kennel cough, canine influenza and a clean fecal float every 6 months.
- All dogs MUST wear a flat collar or harness with their city license attached at all time while in the parks. If you bring your dog in without a flat collar, they will not be allowed in the park and may NOT STAY in the facility. If you use a training collar to pick your dog up and to drop them off, please provide a flat collar upon your arrival each morning. We will gladly put it on them for their time in the parks.
- If your dog has loose stool for any reason, they will NOT be allowed into the play parks. We reserve the right to request a new fecal test before the dog can come back if we think it could be sick.
- We are not responsible for lost items. We do lots of laundry and cleaning everyday, and cannot be responsible for toys, treats, etc. that are brought in. Please label everything you bring for your dog.
- Please note: Frontline must be applied at least 24 hours in advance of your dog coming into daycare. In addition, Seresto collars must be removed before dogs enter the play park. We are not responsible for misplaced Seresto collars.
- Temperament tests are scheduled at our earliest convenience. We only do one per day and can sometimes have a wait period. All vaccines need to be on file before we can schedule a date for a temp test.

What is the difference between boarding and a kennel?
Boarding involves dogs staying overnight in private rooms (kennels) that are essentially their own bedrooms. We don’t use crates; our standard rooms are 4×6, and luxury rooms are 6×10.
What age is best for dog daycare?
As early as possible to promote socialization and adaptability. While early socialization is good, sometimes puppies just over 6 months can still have too much puppy energy for daycare.

Clients provide their dog’s food to avoid allergy issues. Our trainers do offer treats while working with the dogs in Structured Daycare and the Puppy Daycare programs.

Dogs not picked up by 6:00pm will be charged an additional $25 every 15 minutes thereafter.
Dogs not picked up by 6:30PM will be required to stay overnight as a hotel guest for the protection of the other overnight visitors.
Your card will be charged accordingly.
TEMPERAMENT
The Urban Hound Hotel requires that dogs pass a full-day temperament test. Call us at 617-755-5775 to schedule.

Please inform us at time of registration and/or check-in if your dog has any allergies.
LIABILITY
Please be sure to read our liability waiver and know the rules before leaving your dog at the hotel and daycare.

The Urban Hound requires proof that the following are up to date before any dog can attend daycare:

*Please note that Canine Influenza is a two-part vaccination. A booster is required 2+ weeks after the initial shot. We do require both rounds, so please make sure that you leave yourself enough time for your pup to receive both before your reservation.
