Owners must bring food for your dog to avoid changes in the dog’s diet, which can lead to increased stress and stomach issues. Individual meals must be packaged in zip-lock bags per length of stay. Edible treats are welcome. No rawhides allowed. If you do NOT bring food for your dog, you will be charged $5 per meal for our house food (Acana).

    MEDICATION

Make sure medication is labeled clearly and that dosage instructions are included.

    FLEA AND TICK PREVENTION

All dogs must be on a flea and tick prevention program. Please bring proof along with proof of vaccinations. Should you apply flea and tick medication to your dog on a day they are coming to the daycare or hotel, they will NOT be allowed in the daycare and you will be charged for a day of solo play/walks. This is for the safety of our staff and the other dogs in the park that would come in contact with the medication.

    CANCELLATION POLICY

Please note that we are a boutique facility and have limited rooms available for our guests. Because of this, we ask that you honor our cancellation policy. We require a 50% non-refundable deposit for all hotel stays. If you must cancel, and you do not do so within 72 hours of your stay, your card will be charged the full amount of your stay.

    EMERGENCY

If your dog becomes ill while you are away, we will contact you and your veterinarian immediately. Our on-call vet, Dr. Jake Tedaldi, will also be notified. In case of emergency during regular business hours, Dr. Tedaldi will be called in to check on your dog. After hours and on-weekends, as needed, we will transport your dog to a 24-hour Veterinary Emergency Center.

    BELONGINGS

The Urban Hound Hotel provides beds, blankets, water and food bowls for our guests. Please refrain from bringing belongings from home. The Urban Hound Hotel is not responsible for any lost or damaged items.

    HEALTH

Stay requires a veterinarian certificate indicating proof of vaccinations for distemper, rabies, parvovirus,  *canine influenza and six month bordatella for at least 7 days prior to boarding. A clean fecal float is also required, and must have been performed in the past 6 months. Titer protection may be substituted for the distemper and parvovirus vaccinations. PLEASE NOTE: If your dog has any health conditions that we should know about please tell us prior to your arrival so we can update their file!

Dogs over 6 months MUST be spayed or neutered. Dogs over 6 months that are not spayed or neutered will not be allowed in the facility.

*Please note that Canine Influenza is a two-part vaccination. A booster is required 2+ weeks after the initial shot. We do require both rounds, so please make sure that you leave yourself enough time for your pup to receive both before your reservation.

    TEMPERAMENT

The Urban Hound requires all dogs to pass a full-day temperament test. Tests are held Monday through Friday, from 8am – 4pm. You may call us at 617 755 5775 to schedule. Please note, although your dog may pass the initial test, this is only an opportunity for our trainers to evaluate them for a short period of time. We reserve the right to ask any dog to leave our facility at any anytime. We have a one strike and you are out policy for the safety of all of our clients. We do not tolerate fights, humping, or any other behaviors that make our daycare and hotel unsafe for all other dogs.

    ALLERGIES

Please inform us at time of registration and/or check-in if your dog has any allergies.

    SEPARATION ANXIETY

If your dog has separation anxiety we strongly urge you to use the services of a pet-sitter or house-sitter. Boarding a dog with separation anxiety is not safe or kind for the dog, it is stressful for the other dogs being boarded, and you may incur extreme costs to replace/repair the physical damage that your dog does to the boarding facility. Your dog could also seriously injure themselves in attempts to escape the boarding facility.

Please be sure to read our liability waiver and know the rules before leaving your dog at the hotel.
